About this repair

Overheating can wreck an engine in minutes, and the cause is not always where you would guess. We pressure-test the system, find the leak or the failed part, and repair it before the heat damages anything else.

Signs you need it

  • The temperature gauge climbs or the warning light comes on
  • Steam from under the hood or a sweet smell
  • Coolant on the ground or a low reservoir
  • No heat in the cabin even when the engine is warm

Don't replace it. Repair it.

Before you replace the engine

A replacement is the most expensive answer, and not always the only one. A leaking gasket, a failed sensor, a worn timing part or a single damaged cylinder can look like a dead engine. We find the real cause first.

Common questions

What should I do if my car overheats while driving?

Pull over somewhere safe and turn the engine off. Do not open the radiator cap while it is hot. Once it cools, check the coolant level, and have it towed if it keeps overheating.

Why does coolant keep disappearing?

It is leaking out, or burning inside the engine. A pressure test finds an external leak; a worn head gasket is a possible internal cause.
